Description
9×11 pastel on paper
Portrait of Americana singer-songwriter Ryan Bingham, one of my favorite contemporary music artists. A native of Hobbs, New Mexico, Bingham’s albums include: Mescalito, Roadhouse Sun, Junky Star, Tomorrowland, and Fear & Saturday Night.
Ryan Bigham won an Academy Award for Best Original Song for the song “The Weary Kind” from the movie “Crazy Heart.”
Ryan Bingham also can be seen playing cowboy Walker in Taylor Sheridan’s “Yellowstone.”
This was my first pastel drawing in over 30 years. Inspired by a photograph by Leeann Mueller, which was an illustration from a Texas Monthly article entitled “The Weary Blues” written by Austin deejay & writer Andy Langer.
