Palace Theater, Marfa Texas
My brother-in-law Jerry Salgado actually was born and spent the young part of his life in Marfa, Texas. Now all the hipsters and artists are moving to Marfa, and Marfa is one of the Art Capitals of the Southwest. But Jerry still travels there often to visit family and see the old homestead, etc. Jerry’s a really good amateur photographer, too, and he often brings home to Austin his photos as suggestions for my paintings. I’ve made and sold many Marfa paintings based on his pictures, as is this one for sale of the Place Theater in Marfa.
