Amanda Shires
Fellow Lubbock expatriate Amanda Shires has lived up to her potential of Next Big Thing from Lubbock: founder of the Highwomen, writing partner and bandmate of her husband Jason Isbell, friends with Leonard Coen, Billy Joe Shaver, and John Prine. My wife, brother-in-law, and i try to see her perform live whenever Amanda Shires comes near Austin. This painting is inspired by a summer night we saw Amanda perform at legendary Gruene Hall.
